Target Replays Designers in 2011

Thakoon for Target 2008

If you missed out on the chance to buy a fabulous dress from one of Target’s GO International collections, you are going to get a second take next year! The retailer recently announced that it will feature a line of 34 pieces from previous guest designers, including Zac Posen, Tucker, Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, Paul & Joe, Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Libertine, Alice Temperley, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chai, Erin Fetherston, Jonathan Saunders, Thakoon, Tracy Feith and Rodarte. The exclusive collection is a celebration of the fifth anniversary of Target offering affordable luxury, and will be available in Target stores and at Target.com on March 13 through April 13, 2011.

I can’t wait to see what fab designers Proenza Schouler and Libertine come up with, as I missed them a few years ago when they debuted their clothing lines at Target. Also, I am looking forward to checking out the selections from my favorite collaborators, Alice Temperley, Richard Chai and Thakoon. What designer are you looking forward to? Please leave a comment of your favorite look so far.

Prabal Gurung for Target Please!

Prabal Gurung

Just read on fashionista.com that designer Prabal Gurung is rumored to be the next GO International collaborator for Target. OMG! I love Gurung’s dresses, which have been worn by actresses Katie Holmes and Leighton Meester, and of course, First Lady Michelle Obama. His talents were recognized by the industry as well, as he is one of the designers of the 2010 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation. A line with Target could be a dream collection in our budgets! First, William Rast. Now Prabal Gurung! This is going to be amazing time for affordable fashion!

UPDATE: Just wanted to emphasize that the rumor of Gurung coming to Target has not been confirmed yet. Here’s hoping that we get more news soon!

Take an Adventure with Tucker for Target

Target’s new GO International collection debuts on Target.com and at selected Target stores today, September 12. Designer Gaby Basora for Tucker teamed up with the retailer for a line of boho chic styles that you’ll want to pick up for your Fall wardrobe. I love the romantic styling of the peasant blouses in pretty butterfly or floral prints. The art of layering is made easy with looks, such as a camisole dress underneath a button down dress topped with an must-have olive green trench. Tucker’s blouses would look fabulous with a black bomber jacket and a brocade skirt from also the line. There are several great looks for transition dressing, with print dresses to wear now, and wear later with a stylish sweater vest. Are you excited about the collection?
