Ways to Refresh Your Wardrobe
While I enjoy following today’s fashion trends, I like getting long wear and usage out of my existing wardrobe as well. One of the easiest way to update your closet is by simply adding a few new accessories, which will infuse a fresh look to some older outfits. This is also a great way to look chic and save money, which is good news for many of us who are on a shopping budget.
One of my favorite trends right now is the studded belt. We first saw the return of the belt on Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City Movie last year. I loved how the belt looked surprising perfect with a floral dress. The studded belt is everywhere this season, and budget retailers, including H&M and Express are offering them for an affordable price.

Another fav piece that has gone from the fashion runways to the streets is the statement necklace. A simple white T-shirt is transformed when paired with a fabulous necklace. You can choose from floral designs to geometric patterns, that are bib style or super-long and big. H&M and Target’s Erickson Beamon collection offer beautiful choices to try on a necklace to see which style suits you.
Remember that fashion is not about duplicating a model’s look in a magazine. It’s about finding your own style and what feels comfortable on you. Don’t try to follow all of the old rules. Have fun with fashion!
Anchor Pendant Necklaces
Nautical-themed necklaces are showing up on fashionistas everywhere this spring. Isla Fisher was one of the first to show off the charming anchor pendant necklace during a memorable dance sequence in her film, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Then our favorite city gal, Leighton Meester’s Blair Waldorf wore a gorgeous anchor necklace with a strand of pearls to add some drama to an afternoon brunch with her fabulous Gossip Girl crowd. The anchor necklace makes a bold statement, so it is best worn with a neutral color, such as white or beige. To emulate the fashion trend, I have found affordable options of the fab pendant. Anchors away!
