Thakoon for Target 2008

If you missed out on the chance to buy a fabulous dress from one of Target’s GO International collections, you are going to get a second take next year! The retailer recently announced that it will feature a line of 34 pieces from previous guest designers, including Zac Posen, Tucker, Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, Paul & Joe, Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Libertine, Alice Temperley, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chai, Erin Fetherston, Jonathan Saunders, Thakoon, Tracy Feith and Rodarte. The exclusive collection is a celebration of the fifth anniversary of Target offering affordable luxury, and will be available in Target stores and at Target.com on March 13 through April 13, 2011.

I can’t wait to see what fab designers Proenza Schouler and Libertine come up with, as I missed them a few years ago when they debuted their clothing lines at Target. Also, I am looking forward to checking out the selections from my favorite collaborators, Alice Temperley, Richard Chai and Thakoon. What designer are you looking forward to? When I saw the images from Richard Chai’s Love collection, I was quite impressed with his art of layering with a grunge twist. The polished looks for Fall 2010 consisted of pretty georgette dresses, asymmetrical tunics, cropped pants with knit leggings and floor-length pants. At New York Fashion Week, the lean styles in hues of powder blue, taupe and various shades of grey, looked amazing with tough combat boots and fingerless gloves.

I am really looking to Chai’s contemporary line. It’s so much better for my wallet! I love the fab jackets, especially the army green cargo jacket, which keeps the utilitarian trend alive in autumn. I can’t wait to wrap myself in Chai’s dreamy layers to keep the chill away.

Designer Richard Chai debuted his  lower-priced line for guys and ladies, Richard Chai Love on the runway at the 2010 Spring New York Fashion Week and it looks amazing. The contemporary collection looks very pretty with breezy pieces, such as short-sleeved jackets, long fluid tank tops and low-waisted pants. All of the items look casual with some dressy pieces in the mix. My favorite part of the collection is the lovely ruffled dress that is perfect for enjoying a summer evening out. Chai used the beautiful print of petals in teal indigo for several of his dress designs. Here at Stealfashion, we fondly remember the limited-edition collection that Chai designed for Target. We can’t wait to get our hands on his Spring collection!
