Prabal Gurung for Target Please!

Prabal Gurung
Just read on fashionista.com that designer Prabal Gurung is rumored to be the next GO International collaborator for Target. OMG! I love Gurung’s dresses, which have been worn by actresses Katie Holmes and Leighton Meester, and of course, First Lady Michelle Obama. His talents were recognized by the industry as well, as he is one of the designers of the 2010 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation. A line with Target could be a dream collection in our budgets! First, William Rast. Now Prabal Gurung! This is going to be amazing time for affordable fashion!
UPDATE: Just wanted to emphasize that the rumor of Gurung coming to Target has not been confirmed yet. Here’s hoping that we get more news soon!
Prabal Gurung Leads the Ecco Domani Winners

Actress Leighton Meester
Fashion designer Prabal Gurung’s star is on the rise. He has just been named as one of the 2010 winners of the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Awards. Gurung is among the seven lucky designers who will receive $25,000 to go toward their Fall 2010 shows in February.
Since the launch of his collection in February 2009, fashionistas have fallen in love with the beautiful styles from the former Design Director for Bill Bass. Hollywood has taken notice of his unqiue take with floral designs too, including actress Demi Moore, who recently wore two of his dresses. However, it was the fashion-forward Gossip Girl Leighton Meester who helped put Gurung on our fashion radar. The lavender brush-painted frock she wore to a benefit at the New York Public Library last November made us stop in our tracks. We love the feminine touches, especially the floral corsage neck, which highlights the dress. So lovely!
We’re sure that we will be seeing much more from the Nepal designer, especially during New York Fashion Week. Hopefully the young designer will create a capsule line, so that the rest of us can enjoy his dresses. That would be awesome and would make my new year’s! Congratulations to the talented designers!
