Another day of persistent rain, but I am ready to put on my rain boots and venture out to Macy’s for the Matthew Williamson Impluse collection. The new line includes sleeveless dresses, leather motorcycle jackets, peasant tops in starry prints, light wash denim vests and cropped trousers. To my disappointment, the H&M store near me only stocked about half of the collection. The Williamson display included some of the swimwear selections, a couple styles of tunics, sunglasses, and a couple of dresses and sleeveless tops from the line. Where were the colorful jeans and beaded vests and tunics? I spoke to a salesperson who confirmed to me that they would not be getting any more shipments of the exclusive collection.

Even though I was lucky enough to find the floral dress that I had wanted, I would have like to have seen more of the collection available. A couple of years ago the same thing happened with Madonna’s designs for the Swedish retailer. I had been waiting for the must-have trench coat and other items from the singer’s line. Then I discovered that my local store only stocked a few pieces of the entire collection, which did not include her trench coat.

Some of the Williamson items that were not available in the store are now available for a hefty price on eBay. I saw a pair of the turquoise jeans on auction for almost double the original price. These days many of us are looking for ways to save money while we shop.We are very selective of our purchases because we want the items to carry us beyond next season or even next year. The incentive of a capsule collection such as Williamson’s, is that recessionistas like myself have the opportunity of owning a piece of unique fashion at an affordable price. A designer dress for $300 is not fashion on the cheap!

The demand and the excitement grew for Williamson’s line over the last few months. However, the supply was definitely limited when the clothing was finally shipped and available to eager shoppers. It is a shame that the items that we covet the most are only available to us if we surrender to a mark-up in price. Maybe the next exclusive collection will be better distributed to all of the H&M stores.

The day is finally here! The Summer collection from Matthew Williamson will be available at your local H&M store starting today. Doors open at 10 AM, but if last month’s shopping madness for the Spring line is any indicator, you will definitely want to get there early to make line. I am excited that I will have the chance to see Williamson’s creations in person. The Spring line didn’t make it to my Milwaukee location, and I refuse to pay double the store price for the stuff on eBay!

The selection of swimwear and colorful prints on pants, tops and dresses look amazing from the numerous photos that I have seen. Remember that this is the first time that a guest desginer has been available at all of the H&M stores. You will not want to miss this limited-edition. There is something for every gal who wants to look fab, and for the guys as well. The collection for men is available now too. Stop in today or tomorrow and pick up a unique work of art.

As you may have heard, the second edition of the phenomenal Matthew Williamson will be available at H&M stores on May 14. The images of the men and women collections are finally available on H&M, and there are several beautiful pieces that I covet from his line. The collection consists of colorful tunics, swimwear, bohemian vests, print scarves, jeans, floral dresses, silk tops and more! It’s the perfect wardrobe for a summer getaway.

Check out the video of the launch party in New York City here. Celebs including Helena Christensen, Mary-Kate Olsen and Alexis Bledel attended the exciting event and scored some of the fashion from Williamson.

Some of the pieces from his collection, like the pink studded belt below, are currently on eBay for auction. Since the dresses are starting at $300, I hope to score some of the hot accessories, such as the studded belts and the beautiful print scarves, at affordable prices. The highly-anticipated edition from Matthew Williamson is looking better every day! According to the Creative Director for H&M Margareta van den Bosch, the retailer has announced an additional shipment of the Williamson collection to give everyone the chance to own a piece from his collection. The first shipment is expected to arrive on April 23 at only 200 H&M stores. The additional shipment will arrive on May 14 worldwide at all of the 1,700 H&M stores. Apparently, this is the first time in H&M history where a designer collaboration will be available at all H&M stores.

Amazing, huh? I can’t wait for this collection! It looks just fabulous! Now if only they had expanded the shipments for some of their past guest designers, such as Stella McCartney!
