Inspired by her favorite flower, the designer’s signature stitching reflect the beauty and elegance of a rose. She launched her namesake company in 2009, and today’s collection includes totes, clutches, satchels and more. Her designs have been seen on the pages of several fashion magazines and blogs. Recently, the popular Bella Tote, was photographed  during a filming for the TV show Gossip Girl. Since actress Leighton Meester was seen with the orange tote for her character Blair Waldorf, fashionistas have wanted to add the coveted Bella Tote to their handbag collection.

Actress Leighton Meester

Fashion designer Prabal Gurung’s star is on the rise. He has just been named as one of the 2010 winners of the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Awards. Gurung is among the seven lucky designers who will receive $25,000 to go toward their Fall 2010 shows in February. 

Since the launch of his collection in February 2009, fashionistas have fallen in love with the beautiful styles from the former Design Director for Bill Bass. Hollywood has taken notice of his unqiue take with floral designs too, including  actress Demi Moore, who recently wore two of his dresses. However, it was the fashion-forward Gossip Girl Leighton Meester who helped put Gurung on our fashion radar. The lavender brush-painted frock she wore to a benefit at the New York Public Library last November made us stop in our tracks. We love the feminine touches, especially the floral corsage neck, which highlights the dress. So lovely! 

We’re sure that we will be seeing much more from the Nepal designer, especially during New York Fashion Week. Hopefully the young designer will create a capsule line, so that the rest of us can enjoy his dresses. That would be awesome and would make my new year’s! Congratulations to the talented designers!

Our fashion gals from Gossip Girl finally return to TV tonight. Over a month has passed since we have last seen our beloved Blair, Serena, Chuck or Dan. Even though there haven’t been any new episodes, the Upper Eastsiders have been keeping busy working on their other projects. Blake Lively has been promoting her new film, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, where she plays the title character in her teen years. My other fashionista to watch, Leighton Meester has traded her Christian Louboutins for Reebok high-tops, as seen in the ad above. The actress partnered with Reebok for their new footwear collection, Fly Generation, which features fashion forward styles in bold colors and a sporty silhouette for the urban girl. The city gal shows off the new retro Top Down sneaker, which is priced at $60, and available at Lady Foot Locker Locations this spring. I love the casual and sassy look of high-tops with a cute skirt, don’t you?
