Jessica Szohr in Anna Sui for Target

Gossip Girl Jessica Szohr’s incredible style never ceases to amaze me. The actress has proven that she knows her style smarts. The fashionista celebrated the 40th anniversary of the original lunar landing hosted by Louis Vuitton at New York City’s American Museum of Natural History. I love how she effortlessly mixed high-end labels with a fab budget collection from Target. Szohr wore a lace minidress from the highly-anticipated Anna Sui for Target line, and layered a butterfly-print vest from DKNY over the cute dress. She topped her creative ensemble with pricey pieces, a haute band jacket from the British brand, Temperley London, and in accordance to the theme of the event, a Louis Vuitton bag and shoes. I am thinking that she must have received the dress in advance to promote the Anna Sui collaboration. Not only has she seen the exclusive collection before it arrives to the masses, but she gets to wear the clothing. Lucky girl!

Szohr has been very busy filming the third season of Gossip Girl, which returns on September 14. Just in time to help you rejoin the gossip of Blair, Serena, Jenny and Vanessa, the new collection from Target will debut on September 13. I can’t wait for September!

Jewels From Bing Bang Collection (not from Target line)

Acclaimed Jewelry designer Anna Sheffield will bring her lovely designs to Target. Sheffield will be the fifth guest designer to create an exclusive jewelry collection for the mass retailer. The line will debut on August 30 at Target stores and Target.

In San Francisco just seven years ago, the designer founded her company Bing Bang, a unique collection of high-end jewelry. When she moved her collection to New York City, she chose a workspace in a Brooklyn gallery to create a collective for artists to work and socialize together. The showroom owner took an interest in her craft, and placed her designs in the prestigious fashion showroom The News. Her designs of layered chains and heirlooms made from contrasting mixed metals became popular, and soon she had orders from luxury retailers, such as Barney’s New York. Her fan base has grown to include fashion forward actresses, including Cameron Diaz, Julianne Moore and Jessica Szohr.

As a trend-setter, Sheffield finds her inspiration from the urban scene, and her keen eye for New York City’s fashion and culture has kept her in demand for creative projects. Her collaboration with Target is one of several collections she has exclusively designed for retailers. Last year she teamed up with Urban Outfitters with Bee 23 by Bing Bang. Gossip Girl feeds my passion for fashion, I’ll admit. Even though I love watching the ultra-expensive wardrobes of the characters, I find myself following the fashion ensembles the lovely Brooklynite Vanessa Abrams wears on the show. Actress Jessica Szohr, who portrays the artistic filmmaker, identifies with her character’s eclectic style. Her shopping habits may now include luxury shops in New York City, but she still loves thrift store shopping and finding gems in second-hand shops, said Szohr, who was also featured on the April cover of Lucky magazine.

A native of Wisconsin, the brunette beauty still gives her love to the local boutiques in Milwaukee, which is close to where she grew up. Like Vanessa, Szohr chooses looks that  are put together in an effortless way, such as piling chain necklaces and sweeping her hair into a messy twist. She likes to wear her outfits with funky accessories, such as star-shaped earrings and long strands of pearl necklaces. In her daily life, Szohr likes to dress for herself, which is something I admire about her. At a recent event for Target in Chicago, she wore a sleeveless black dress with a beautiful knotted necklace.

How refreshing it is to see a  woman whose career is in the spotlight, follow her own style and stay close to her roots!
