Donatella Versace for H&M

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard of a fashion collaboration with a high-end designer, but now we have something on our fashion radars. H&M announced today that it will have a glamorous collection with the luxurious brand Versace as its Fall designer collaboration. The exclusive line will be available at selected H&M stores starting November 17.

Creative Director Donatella Versace will also design a Pre-Spring collection for the budget retailer, which will be available online starting January 19, 2012. Hopefully H&M can bring e-commerce to the U.S. by the end of the year!

After hibernating under drab layers all winter season, you will love testing out some of the new looks for Spring. The key is trying to mix these trends with items you already have in your closet. A woman can not own too many pairs of jeans in her wardrobe. They are versatile for work or play, depending on how you style your denim. Right now I’m loving the carefree vibe of wide-leg jeans, circa the fashion of the 70′s. The Widelegger Jean in Explorer Wash from Madewell, one of my favorite denim brands, is a great retro fit. The lovely flared leg is amazing and sits comfortably on the waist.

Sunglasses are an essential accessory to your wardrobe not only for function but also for a bit of attitude to any ensemble. Long skirts are also a Spring basic for the versatility to look amazing for almost any casual occasion. Hopefully the temps will warm up soon because I can’t wait to wear a mid-calf skirt with a striped tee and wedge heels. The style also works for your office wardrobe, or go for the dramatic for a special evening look and pair your skirt with a tucked-in blouse and a statement necklace. It’s bitter cold outside today, but I’m starting to think of Spring. To help us shake off the drabness of Winter, H&M announced today its next fashion collaboration. The retailer will team up with the shoe label Swedish Hasbeens for a Spring collection of sandals and shoes. The exclusive line is inspired by the 1970′s, and will be available in mid-April at stores worldwide. The collection will include different styles of wooden-soled clogs, including gladiator wedges and peep-toe slip-on wedges, and are perfect to wear with jeans or dresses. Handcrafted for comfort and using sustainable materials, these shoes are fashionable and eco-friendly. Are you looking forward to the collection?

Fashion Blogger to Design for H&M

The big news in the world of collaborations is that Elin Kling will be creating a limited collection for Swedish retailer H&M. Kling is recognized as one of the top fashion bloggers in Sweden, which could explain why the line of chic apparel and accessories will only be available in Sweden. Why doesn’t the US get a chance to own these lovely pieces?

Also, I wonder if this means that H&M is starting a new trend of working with fashion bloggers to design beautiful clothes. If so, will they choose an American blogger for their next fashion project? Lanvin for H&M in November

H&M likes to tease us. After posting several videos alluding us as to who was the next designer collaboration, H&M finally gave their fans a confirmation to the guessing game in fashion designers. To maintain the air of mystery, H&M had disguised the voice and facial features of the artist. The predictions ranged from Caroline Herrera to Vivienne Westwood. Then, H&M made their announcement! It’s official! Parisian fashion house Lanvin will create an exclusive collection for the Swedish retailer. The line of womenswear and menswear will be designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz, and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver. The new collection will go on sale on November 23 in about 200 H&M stores worldwide.

Also, H&M will reveal the collection to the world through a special film which will be launched on November 2 . The film will be available for viewing at www.hm.com and will give everyone a chance to start planning for the shopping event! Are you excited about the news?

Its style guide details the hottest fashion of the season for ladies and men. H&M Celebrates New Store in Harlem

Grand Opening of H&M Harlem

H&M celebrated the grand unveiling of its newly renovated store in Harlem with a burst of fashion and fun. The first 200 shoppers were given gift cards and H&M T-shirts. In addition, one lucky winner received an All-Access Fashion Pass, which included a personal style consultation from a H&M stylist.

To support the local community, the budget retailer partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem, and awarded the members early access to shop at the store before the public. H&M also donated gift cards valued between $10-$300.

The grand re-opening on 125th Street marked the retailer’s growing presence in New York City and the reinvention of the trendy location for the fashion-conscious. Visit the new store at 125 West 125th Street today!
