Iconic American designer Ralph Lauren won the first ever popular vote at last night’s CFDA awards. The fashion genius, who is known for his classy looks, took home the award after receiving 15,000 votes online. Other awards were given to spectacular designers such as, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte for Womenwear Designer of the Year, and Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for the Accessory Designer of the Year. A special tribute was given to First Lady Michelle Obama for being a walking billboard of support for the fashion industry.

Crew, Michelle Obama visited a cancer care center in London with Sarah Brown, wife of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. President Obama and his stylish First Lady are in London for the G20 Summit to discuss the world economy with other world leaders. Amid the chaos at London’s financial district, Obama’s signature classic style provided a welcomed dash of class, continuing her impact as a style icon overseas.

Since their arrival to Great Britain, Michelle Obama has wowed the public with her elegant looks and her undeniable charm. She landed with her husband in London’s Stansted International Airport wearing one of her favorite designers, Jason Wu. The sunny yellow frock embraced the freshness of spring and also highlighted her natural beauty. It is refreshing to see that even on European soil, Obama is wearing American designers, said Wu. Wonder what designer Michelle Obama will be wearing when the First couple meets Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace?
