The weekend went by too fast as usual! Getting outside with my dog to get some fresh air was a good way to decompress from the week’s worries. My dog tends to go a little stir crazy if he doesn’t get some exercise. He looks so happy here on our walk. I love how he is smiling in the second picture. Since it is still chilly here, I wore a warm hat and a scarf, which I favor because my aunt made it for me.

What did you do this weekend?

It is a sweltering 93 degrees outside. Is it just me, or are the dog days of summer a complete drag? On days like these, I start to daydream of the brisk days of Fall and wrapping myself in the cozy knits of the season. Looking ahead to next season, I have been swooning over the Fall collection from DKNY. I’m adding just about everything to my wish list. I love the warm color palette, the colorblock sweaters and the fun designs, such as the checkered plaid on the short pleated skirts. Outerwear, such as the riding jacket with leather sleeves and the trench jacket are the perfect layers for the first chill of Fall. Are you looking forward to shopping for Fall fashion?

DKNY and Kim Girardi, whose husband is the Yankees’ Manager Joe Girardi, hosted a store event of Fall fashion for a wonderful cause in New York City. The private shopping event was held to raise funds for the Catch 25 charity, which provides support to families who are dealing with ALS, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer and fertility issues. A portion of the proceeds was donated to raising awareness of the disases and helping individuals find treatments.

Girardi invited her circle of friends, including the wives and girlfriends of  the NY athletes, to shop for the looks right from the runway. Among the lucky attendees was actress Joanna Garcia, who recently became engaged to the Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher. Read the rest of this entry »
