Alexa Chung at the VMA Awards 2009

We are very excited of the news of the collaboration between British fashionista Alexa Chung and the hip brand Madewell. We already miss seeing her perfect stylish tomboy looks on her cancelled afternoon show, It’s On with Alexa Chung. Now, we can relax with the knowledge that Chung will bring her designs as a collection of cute pieces, including tea skirts, denim, and velvet dresses.

We will have to wait a while for the goods, though. The line, appropriately called Alexa Chung for Madewell, is expected to debut in September. Can’t wait for this new chapter from the style muse!

I just learned that the fab MTV show It’s On with Alexa Chung has been cancelled. Apparently, the finale  was aired on Thursday, December 17. A recent statement from the MTV network said, “Alexa Chung will present the last of her current series on December 17. She and the network have mutually decided to part ways on this project.”

For those of you not familiar with the fashionable host, Chung is a recent import from the other side of the pond. She came to New York City to host the talk show. The format of the afternoon show was hip and trendy. She played fun games, including blind taste tests, with her guests and chatted about news in pop culture. The list of her noteworthy guests included: Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen, Leighton Meester, actors Jason Bateman, Gerard Butler, Kellan Lutz, and the musical talents of Paramore, Metric and many others. Her amazing style was covetable due to her perfect pairing with high-end fashion labels, such as Chanel, with low-end finds from Topshop, H&M and Target.

Alexa, we will miss having you as part of our daily fashion following and your smart humor. We hope to see you in other projects in the near future.
