When Allison Moses was only 10 years old, she discovered her passion for jewelry making and created beaded jewelry to sell to her friends. After attending the Rhode Island School of Design, she continued at the Fashion Institute of Technology while pursuing a graphic design degree at the American University. Her travels to Florence, Italy to study art history, helped inspire the artist’s dream of creating bold jewelry.

Today, her jewelry is custom made of gorgeous gemstones, such as turquoise and black diamonds, and each unique piece, whether a cocktail ring or a necklace, reflects Allison’s inner beauty with a little vintage vibe for fun. Her brand, Allison Daniel Designs, has been recently featured on Gossip Girl and American Idol, and on the pages of several fashion magazines this Summer. We were so excited to have the chance to talk with the busy designer. Read on for an exclusive interview with the talented artist, and stay tuned for a new giveaway for our fashionable readers!

SF: What do you remember most about your early days working as an accessories designer?
AM: I remember the days walking the streets of NY looking for the perfect beads to make barrettes, and kept going from there. I must have been around 8 years old.

SF: Did you always want to make jewelry?
AM: My family was in the button-making business, so I always loved playing around with little pieces and trinkets. Designing fun pieces for the everyday woman is something I have always wanted to do.

SF: Who is the person who inspired you the most and why?
AM: No one in particular, but I do find the most inspiration from walking the city streets! From the buildings’ architecture to the people that I observe, there’s something fun and unique about everything I see in the city. This is what truly inspires me.

SF: What are your plans for the next collection?
AM: Big, bold pieces with lots of dainty ones as well!
