Knowledge and experience of creating fabulous denim is in Diana Sedigi’s genes. Her family’s design and production company has enabled her to launch her own line of premium denim, Malibu Denim.

Sedigi was inspired by the beautiful beaches of Malibu, California to create the perfect jeans for summer. The jeans are made of light-weight cotton and are comfortable to wear to the beach or to a roof-top barbecue. Malibu Denim uses an exclusive fabric that contains 1 percent Lycra spandex and 1 percent cashmere, creating the softest feel of denim. The new line will be available in several styles, including boyfriend and skinny cuts. Sedigi also created a sunbaked wash, a light shade that gives the jeans a worn-in look. “I love Malibu,” she said. The washes and the look of the jeans have the same relaxed, casual vibe to them as the Malibu lifestyle, said the designer.

One of the collection’s most impressive features is the design and placement of the back yoke on the jeans. By placing the yoke on the highest point of the hip, the butt is lifted and gives every girl’s curves a nice shape. Prices start at $160, and are an investment in great design and quality. Sedigi’s expertise derives from her father’s years of owning and operating  a denim company, which produced jeans for brands such as Diesel. When she left as head of her family’s design division to pursue her own goals, Sedigi enlisted the help of her partner Bob Bak to create the authentic sun- kissed look that she wanted for her denim line and to oversee the production of their exciting venture.
